View Full Version : What you like / love ?

Decided it was time for another “what I like / love” thread.

I’ve discounted the obvious top of the list things like everything about the one you love, women in general and fast bikes, as they could fill the entire thread, and I’ve gone for more random things.

Some just make me smile to myself (1) some have made me cry (5) and some are very specific to what I love doing (2,4,7,10 ). Some are just weird and would take to long to explain (3,8,10).
;)

1, The feel of cool, clean sheets.
2, The sound of an epee (sword) thudding into your opponents foot.
3, The colour of the top of a lightly fried egg.
4, The sound of a falcon eating a fresh (not frozen) dead day old chick.
5, Watching over your very own new baby when she’s sleeping.
6, Waking up parched and finding it’s still early and your drinks still cold.
7, The harsh, discordant sound of a good set of Pakistani hawk bells.
8, The sound of a stiff brush sweeping a wet path.
9, The slow, deep loud tick of a good clock at night.
10, The disgusting smell of a hot van at the end of a cold day, full of wet dogs, hawks, ferrets and dead quarry.

Over to you...

Waking up on a snowy morning and realising it's the weekend and I don't have to make my way to work! :)

The Smell of freshly brewed coffee on a Sunday Morning.
The waft of a warm breeze in the summer.
The sound that the foil seal on the coffee jar makes when you split it with a spoon...
The sound of a stylus getting stuck on the run-off groove at the end of a 45. (only the old buggers will understand that one)
Cloudless night skies

:)

A real open fire / log burner
Sheets that have been dried in the summer sun
The sound of bird song :)
Walking through fallen autumn leaves
Crisp cold blue sky'd winter days
Making bread and the smell and taste of fresh bread
Friends asking me to bake with them (thanks Gemma x)
Being cuddled
Lilac Monsters ;D
Hearing laughter
Beautiful music
Same as Nelly, cloudless night skies with no light pollution so you can see the stars

The smell of a freshly opened coffee jar (going back to Nelly's point)
The way my bike sounds when I roll off of the throttle slowly (mmm!)
Waking up on a Saturday morning/afternoon and knowing the weekend is ahead of you, not behind you!
Walking from a ridiculously warm place into a lovely cold place.
Walking on frozen grass.
Completely cloudless blue sky.

haha... forgotten I'd done this, think I was still half asleep as I started it at 5.15am.

I agree with many of the above, coffee & cuddles - brill !

Can I add, sitting on a quiet seashore in the evening, just watching the waves (especially if they are Greek waves).

Walking in the highlands, when it's warm enough for a T shirt, but also when it's blowing a sideways gale that makes you feel really alive.

Nelly - you picked all my faves!

I miss playing all my records - I still have my record bag here with all my old tracks in it from my DJ days. Sad to say they may never get played again, but I just can't bear to get rid of them. I cut my teeth on 1210's, well before CDJs & laptops came on the scene... The sound of an ortophon on a fresh vinyl, straight out the pack, with just a smidgen of dust for that phono crackle!
