Anyone else see the newsflash a minute ago? The Queen has abdicated – in a statement, The Royal Press Officer said, “After much soul-searching, Her Majesty Queen ElizabethII has taken the difficult decision to renounce the throne.”

Apparently, she intends to address the nation live on BBC1 at 8.00pm tonight.
