If the sender is from the Goverment then it should end .gov

I've not been contacted by the HMRC by email they normally use the postal service.

Thanks for the alert [smiley=thumbsup.gif]

HM Revenue & Customs "noreply@hmrc.gov"

I phoned HMRC and they state that they never contact anyone by email concerning refunds - its on their automated service - its a scam!

As someone who sadly has to deal with HMRC on an almost daily basis I can assure you they dont use email - getting them to reply to a letter is hard enough ::) ::)

I don't need a tax rebate because Prince Umbugu has promised to give me 30% of his £50,000,000 fortune for letting him use my bank account to get his money out of Uganda.

See you later motherf*ckers, I'm gonna be rich!

Well I'm rich, and a total liability according to my SPAM box. Ebay, Paypal, Barclays, LloydsTSB, Nationwide, Santander, Nat West, have all suspended my accounts until I verify them. Whereas Prince Umbugu, HMRC, National Lottery, and various other raffles, are all queuing up to give me money. Then again, someone must have let the cat out the bag, because Viagra is being pushed my way too... ::)

well some lovely chap in Nigeria tells me he will give me $1,000,000 if I can bank transfer him some funds temporarily. Sounds like a deal and a half to me :o I must give him all of my account details!

In all seriousness, its great that a lot of people recognise these scams, but for people like my nearly 80 year old uncle, I worry, I have warned him and he's pretty savvy due to my constant nagging to make sure he does'nt open anything he doesn't trust but as the scammers get more kiniving using what looks like legit emails etc I fear for the people who get caught out by it due to their own good nature to trust (Im talking about the hmrc and bank ones rather than Nigerians asking for money btw)
