I notice they are rising again >:(
The woman in the petrol station said that oil prices are falling even though petrol prices are rising.
Yet again we are being ripped off

Swanny,
In my current location I am paying £0.22 per litre of super unleaded fuel.
I wonder how we can justify all this tax money and still be one of the most screwed up countries!

My uncle lives in Dubai where he can fill his 4.8 V8 Cayennes' tank for the equivalent of £17.
Quite rediculous as it cost me that to fill my bike today.

When i moved to Chippenham, just over 5 years ago now, i had a Bandit 1200, it cost me £12 to get to work (full tank as i work in Frimley), i now have a Blade, similar size tank, and it costs me over £25 :o

when I lived in the states a couple of years ago it would cost me about £15 to fill my golf GTI. The golf I had in this country was costing me about £50 at the time.
The prices are horrific, I know things go up with inflation but when other countries pay a lot less because of all the tax that gets added on ours it makes you want to :'(

Because our taxes pay for armed forces, police, hospitals, schools and all the other wonderful things we enjoy in the glorious UK ;) :)

I think you'll find most of our taxes go to pay for wars and bailing out banks.
As Stunts says the rest are mostly PLC's. The police are definitely a PLC

Careful Swanny they might think we're mad... Of course there is nothing wrong with the whole f**king thing - nothing wrong at all. Work, earn yourself money. Pay taxes, pay taxes on getting to work.

Perfectly sane and acceptable.

It is in effect, another tax on the poor (or those who cannot affford to live in the towns they work in), move the less well off out to the suburbs, then get them to commute in, whilst the rich waddle round the corner.

Every day that I ride my bike to work instead of driving my car, I save £12 in fuel :o

The price that we pay here is beyond obscene.

Note though, that Trowbridge/Westbury etc is the most expensive area for fuel, I fill up in Bristol and save at least 5p per litre.

Ignoring Income Tax,National Insurance [Tax],Value Added Tax, Council Tax, Booze Duty [Tax], Baccy Duty[Tax], Insurance Premium Tax, Road Fund Tax, Air Passenger Tax, ----Tax Avoidance costs too for us to make up the shortfall ;D -- whoops !!! almost forgot :D Stamp Duty [Tax] for those with money to buy houses

I reckon fuel is reasonable :D

costs somat like 55p plus duty and vat c.85p=140p/l

As a tiny example of how well our taxes are spent we need look no further than the Navy that has about 25 what we would call a proper ship/ boat type thing then there are a few speedboaty things called HMS Somat or other--

-anyways there are about 29 Admiral rank and if you think perhaps 2 Captains/ ship to give us about 50 Captains then think on because we are more than adequately supplied with over 225 Captains :D :D salaried around £85k plus perks

----nearly 10 Captains/ ship :o :o

That is some serious moolah Dave.
The Omanis are very well kitted out and everywhere I have been they have clean buildings, smart uniform and don't look like gangsters in black.
The roads have no potholes either!

Warminster and Frome are much cheaper than Trowbridge, Asda frome was 136.9 and i think Morrisons is the same, not worth the journey on a bike but to fill up car or van i save up to £5 on a tank.

Ah but even on a bike not saving much it's a good excuse for a ride 8-)

Fuel saving tip.

Don't fill your tank right up. Car weighs heavier & uses more, also it may spill out over the overflow & we all know about diesel on the roads. Only fill at the very most half full.
