These extreme weather patterns are going to continue as the Polar Ice Caps melt.

I reckon you might be right there. But I've heard the biggest cause of the ice caps melting is the continual radiation release from Fukushima. Nothing is being done to stop the 4 reactors in full meltdown :-/
