Just petrol costs or inclusive of wear & tear, depreciation, insurance, tax etc....

If just petrol you will need to know the mileage you will do (try AA or RAC websites for that), your bikes fuel consumption and the cost per litre you're paying.

Divide first by second and multiply by third.

Are you riding a DT50 or a Fireblade??

Just use HMRC's guide rates, they're not far off on cars, **** for bikes though.

Just looked and the nec is 97 miles away. Not sure where I got 80 miles from. I seem to remember an old girlfriend and something to do with Birmingham. My memory fades :D

So that means you will use 5.2 gallons of fuel.

5.2 gallons = 23.61 litres, so at £1.36 litre, your fuel cost will be £32.11.

Working on 100 miles each way at 48mpg and fuel at £1.36/l

=200 miles (100*2)
= 4.167 gallons fuel (200/48)
= 18.94 litres (4.167*4.546)
= £25.76 (18.94*1.36)

Your mpg seems high. It cost me £16 the last time I did it on the GS which is 76mpg by the reverse calculation.

Life's too short to be working things like this out down to the penny. Shove some money & plastic in your pocket get on your bike and enjoy.
If it is the NEC bike show you are going to then there's no parking charge, you get to park close to the main building and they have a helmet park

I used to do Lyneham to Telford which was 127 miles with the route I used. Cost me about £28 return trip on the XJ6.

So it shouldn't cost too much.

:o :o where'd you get the idea that your £25 is a bargain---total rip off especially about 65% is bloody tax

probabaly inversted so 'essential' military fire crews can trundle across to the naafi for tea in their 1 mile/gallon fire tenders ::)

as they say in Spartacus ---spread cheeks and take it up fookin arse ;D
