Mark is very ill and in intensive care in Bath hospital. I think most of you here know him. He rides the black trike and is one of us Mowermen.
He has some sort of bug (looking like viles) that has really hit him hard, they gave him penicillin but he had an allergic reaction to that and it made him worst.
I'll let you know how he gets on.

Wishing him a speedy recovery

Don't know the bloke but GWS dude

yeah weils is pretty bad--he's yellow cos of liver damage/malfunction and it has been mistaken for and called infectious jaundice in the past.

Could of caught it off dogs [lick infected rat piss] if he got any or from water infected with it...river/stream rats pissing in it or dealing with stagnant water and a cut on his hand ??

Quite rare disease to get these days as majority are not exposed to the causative agent/enviroment in which the bacterium lives. What is his job as a matter of interest Swanny ?

Get very severe headaches, high fever, affect breathing and can possibly take ages to recover from :-/

... I know somat about it because it is the family of the bacteria Leptospira and did some info with Bristol Vet Uni well over 30 years ago about it ...time flies when your having fun :P

Anyways regular doses of Ampicillin should work fine and Mark will be back asap Swanny :)

He mows lawns for the council. He does have lots of pets from ferrets to birds of prey including rats

Visited him yesterday he's out of intensive care and on Parry ward seems pretty chipper considering. Hes not as yellow as he was and seems to be recovering but they are still taking blood out of him for tests to try and find out what the problem is.

Get well soon we miss our wednesday cake night !!! :)

Hope you get better soon mate, rats are the usual culprit, there was a case of contamination on beer bottles in a pub cellar from them, rats doing their bizzle, then punters drinking from the infected bottles, dairy cattle are also carriers, but its not as well documented.

Rats piss as they move

some of the beer in local pubs could be described as 'rats piss' and that's a fact ;D

anyways seems he's being 'sorted' 8-)
