View Full Version : Halloween 'No Trick of Treat' Poster
Can't remember who I was talking to about this at the weekend, but here 'tis...
Wiltshire Police provide an official poster for you to display in the window/door if you'd rather not have visits from trick-or-treaters.
Download from here - http://www.wiltshire.police.uk/index.php/campaignsand-events/3343-halloween
Thanks for that. I just go out and leave all the lights turned off. :)
I don't like the America version of Halloween.
You could just make up your own signing saying something like...
Bugger off scroungers
Touch my car on the way out and I'll eat your cat :D
I've always wondered what happens if you say Trick when they ask??
Are you supposed to throw a bucket of water at them instead of giving them sweets??

'Bugger off scroungers'?? :( :( :(
In the main, kids spending most of the day dressing up to have some fun. :) :) :)
Its my turn this year to take the kids out and about, they really make an effort with the costumes and make up, we have a kind of friends list who we visit every year and i think the posters are a good idea, saves them the bother and onto the next :)
That's alright, halloween's on a wednesday so they'll have to pass by the H&C for a smellyburger ;)

I grew up in America so Halloween and Trick or Treating was a huge occasion - but over there every single house joins in with decorations, special effects, candy etc. It's only partially caught on over here so it's the same...
our kids love it and we both take them out, they're follow a strict rule though, if the house has no pumpkin or decoration they do not knock, it works a treat, nobody feels harrassed or neglected, in fact I can hear the in their rooms right now with their mum getting a costume ready, I personally really enjoy seeing it, all the kids have a great time round here and its nowhere near as expensive as Christmas or bonfire night. :)

I can imagine the old and infirm not wanting to get up and down for the kids, for lets face it, around 2 hours. However if you are that old and infirm, you shouldn't be riding bikes, miserable gits.

Halloween in the USA was a terrifying ordeal I thought, I've never seen so many children on one street in my life, there were literally swarms of them, everywhere. Thankfully though they were only allowed out during allocated hours.
I hate Halloween enough as it is without people coming to the door, I think I'll hide upstairs and leave all the lights off.

"Always keep some sweets by the door for the young 'uns"
Insn't that what Jimmy S did?
If water wasn't so expensive maybe a power washer hose pointing out through the letterbox
Only joking our grandson loves it, both giving sweets out and then going out to get some back

Stu, I suggest you go back and read the posts again, I was responding to Swanny's comments. I would never refer to children having fun as scroungers. :o
Unlike some on here, I haven't forgotten that I was a child once. ;) :)

I did that too, there was no money in it ;D
I remember being a kid, it was great fun and if I was one today I'd be out scrounging begging asking for sweets from complete strangers ;)

Goose, memory loss is no laughing matter and it is cruel of you to mock my defective hearing. :D ;D
My mind and memory are both as sharp as Fernando Torres in the ‘six yard box.’ I can still remember the names of all the children who came round last Wednesday, and all the Christmas Carols they sang. ;) ;D
You must be getting me confused with another Wiltshire Biker member, Geordie Stu. He hails from Newcastle (or was it Sundeland?) and is a Tory so must have forgotten his roots. Lol :D ;) ;D
Regards Pete
