If there was a straight tunnel from one side of the earth to the other passing through the core and you jumped in, would you stop falling once you hit the centre and just kin of float there due to the effect of gravity.

Due to the earths core temperature, you'd be fried well before you got there ;D ;D

Hypothetically....

If there was a tunnel - with no high temperature at the core - and no terminal velocity due to wind (air) resistance...

You would keep accelerating until you reached the centre - after which you would start decelerating... ultimately reaching 0 mph when you reach ground level Australia... grab the edge unless you want to repeat the journey in reverse...

You would stick to the side of the tunnel.

Sensible answer. I reckon you'd fall straight through as the effects of Gravity would aslo pass through the tunnel.

What time would it be??? ;)

Depends on your point of view.

What time would it be??? ;)

Depends on if the tunnel ran North to South or East to West
