Maybe an urban myth but I heard this was a question in a Final Year Philosophy degree. How would you answer?

No, ‘This’ on its own is a word used to identify a specific person or thing close at hand or being indicated or experienced.

I'd say yes, because I'd assume that "this" refers to the question itself.

I have a feeeling that is the wrong answer :)

I don't have the answer. However, I did say "Discuss" so by discussing I can only deduce that the answers are correct.

You must let go of the concept of right and wrong answers and get used to the concept of explaining and justifying the answer you have in clear rational terms.
