now a silly question this may seem, but..... hot tall is everyone, not strictly rekated to bikes on the anatomical front (obviously) but, I'm a little stunted at 5'7" and Dutch (he'll hate me for saying this) is at a dizzying 5'8". I just wondered if there is a corellation between the relationship of type of bike with the size of Rider.

So

Hardly Stunted at 5'7"!!

Lets put the seat height on too, it may be of help to new riders.

This might help Gemm Nokes as she was wondering about new bikes and her height was something in question. this may help her!

I'm 5'8 in my stocking feet (only weekends)
BMW RT1100 seat hight not a bloody clue, but its adjustable and I have it set on lowest setting, can get toes of both feet down, now this is where it gets complicated, my inside leg is 29'5 and me boots have a 1/2 to 3/4 inch sole, so you will have to do the math!!

Interesting point for me is that my inside leg is 34" as well as my bikes!! I can't fit on a japanese sports bike if it has a fairing - my chin will crack the windscreen.

That's what I like - an old fashioned man! :-*

Because of the weather it was decided to just do a loop round Devizes, Calne and then back to Swindon. But as I live in Trowbridge, I peeled off in Devizes and came on home while I was still relatively dry! Blooming sunny out there now! ::)

I trust you made it home dry?

Whilst I appreciate that kind of talk. It is something my mum would say.

"it's not the size, it's what you do with it..."

But a claim to fame your height can be.

You are officially the shortest person on Wiltshire Bikers.co.uk.... WELL DONE!

All these seat heights is very confusing! I'm pretty sure I want a Bandit 600 as my first bike (in silver!), what seat height can I expect on that? At 5ft 10" will I be able to ride one?

Dabz
06-04-06, 11:50 AM
the 600 bandit will be the same height as my 1200. they're great bikes, 6 gears and very revvy. gorgeous clutch too

I'm 5'11 and have been fine with both my bandits

zebedee1984
06-04-06, 01:03 PM
I suppose asking Dabz originally would have been the quickest way to do things, but then, quickest is generally the more boring option!

Dabz
06-04-06, 01:07 PM
lol yup...though she was interested in other bikes too. I love the bandits though for some reason...so I'm currently spending a few hundred on transforming mine instead of just selling up and buying a tcat lol

zebedee1984
06-04-06, 01:09 PM
well if it works and aint broke... you know the rest.

Bandits are timeless which is a great thing to have in a bike, the engines also last forever and a day. It has been known for bandits to run well past the 100k mark on the mileage.

Dabz
06-04-06, 01:21 PM
that's good news as mine is currently sitting on 34k hehe...the father in law racked up all but 200 of those since owning it from new too

zebedee1984
06-04-06, 01:44 PM
well there you go.

you know it's good for another 70k or so.

My ninja is currently on 22k which is good for a super sport and I use it in all weathers.

Although sods law says, the bugger will fall apart when I get on it later!

JamesHockley
06-04-06, 03:36 PM
My Blackbird has done 25k and seems to run fine (touch wood, it still has to get me home!), but it is a honda so it should have a few miles left in it.

I have been using it all week for work, so good not to be in the car!!

that's a nice description.

I've been riding for (un-restricted) for three years and even before hen I as on my FZR400RR the feeling that riding gave me was fantastic. if I've had a stressful day or if I've had an argument with the missus (not the current one, she's lovely). it all didn't seem to matter as soon as I was on the bike.

Awesome and that's why I ride.

I don't feel much of the cold, or the heat, just making sure that the lines are smooth and I'm hitting the corners at a good pace and carrying corner.

Sorry... babbling on there!

benobiker
06-04-06, 04:49 PM
No, not babbling on at all. As the aussies say, I catch what you are throwing ... completley, when you find a bike that you fall in love with and you have one, then its love all the way.

Like you say, crappy day, just hop on the bike and go, cures even the worst feelings.... i ride for the same reasons... and i am sure i will but have yet to meet a biker i have not enjoyed talking to.
