Now that my other half has decided to get a bike and learn to ride I think it may well me time to get another sports bike,
any suggestions?
I don't want to spend more than about £4000
can you be a bit more specific?
sports/naked/tourer
600, 636, 750 etc etc

Sports, but I am not fussed anout what size engine.
I have seen a couple GSXR's K4 that are quite good, I have thought about the Ninja as I had one before and loved it, bu the 2004 model is to small for my 6'3" rather bulky frame which means I have to go for one of the older ones (which is not a promblem).
i think you'll be lucky to find a gixxer thou for £4k. there are a few about but if you don't mind the high mileage that comes with them. of course.........there are always fleabay bargains.
haven't seen a gixxer 750 K1 for sale for less that £4.2k recently
for £4k, i reckon you can get a zx636 b1/2, gixxer 600 (k1-3), R6 (01-02)
if the age of the bike doesn't bother you, then a gixxer 750 (earlier than K series), zx-7r, fireblade (rr2/rr3), R1 ('00)
just a case of getting out there and having a good luck around mate. see what bike suits your size best and then take it from there

Cheers,
I did see on Autotrader a K4 with 6000 miles on it for 4K, no surprise that it had gone by the time I phoned!
The 636 is tempting what year did they change to the small er angular shape?

2003 mate.........the B1 model, which replaced the older looking A1P
2004 brought the B2
2005 brought the C1 (underseat exhaust jobby)
check out mine and skyjawa's pics of our bikes in the other section. mine is a B1, his is a B2

I'm 6ft 3 and have no problems with a K4/5 Gixer 750 (same dimensions as the 600). I sat on the 05 R6 for the California Superbike School and it felt tiny.
oh, by the way
noticed a couple of adverts in my local newagents today
daytona 600, yellow, 03/53 reg £3900 (i think) ono
cbr 600 rr, red, 03/53 reg £4250 ono
one bike has 1500 miles on it, the other has 3500. can't remember which one is which though
both advertised by the same person (his and hers bikes i think). sounds like an ideal oppurtunity to pick up a steal as it looks like they need the money
James old bean, you have a pm so check your messages for possibly a nice surprise!
