View Full Version : which visor?

well Gixerboy has insisted that I replace the visor on my agv helmet as "clear visors are really uncool" so here lies a choice (I'm notoriously bad at making decisions)

black
light tint
some kind of iridium, maybe blue
gradient (my least fav)

usually wear either glasses that go dark in the sun or normal sunglasses under the clear vidor...so with the dark visor I'd have to carry a clear one I presume for when it gets darker...more to carry under my seat hehe

advice needed :)

Black to go with your streetfighter image! lol! Why not look at the Fog City visor inserts like BlueBiker got at Crescent?

My new lid came with a light tint, which is road legal. It looks good but you still need to wear sunnies.

I had a Fog City insert on my old lid which worked really well, and they are road legal as they can be removed when the sun goes down. I think they are about a tenner so could get a couple and decided which one you prefer :)

Or for something completely different.....

I have a fog city in there at the mo so I guess I could remove that and add a dark one..anyone got a link to them?

I had one of the light reactive ones and it was road legal, but I found it was no good in real bright sun light. I would go for a dark visor and get one of the oxford (or cheaper makes) visor belts that you wear round you to carry the clear on in.

Dabz the link in my previous post to the Visor Shop should sort you out for the fog city insert.

Cheers,

Jeff

going back to gixerboy's original request...are these tinted fog inserts as 'cool' as a tinted visor? bearing in mind this is all to please him ;)

Do it for urself James...no one else

Shup MD,what do you know about being kool?? ;D
Dabz,if you don't wanna go the whole hog with the visor, then a 'Pinlock' insert, not fog city (rubbish) is perfectly acceptable!
If you do go with the Pinlock insert, you can then take it out at will, for night riding for instance (can't do with the Fog city) but you will have to drill the visor first. (easy)
Hope thats cleared that up for you! :) 8-)

I'd need a pinlock kit to put the pins in as well as an insert wouldn't i?

GixerBoy

Comes as a kit Dabz........

Dabz
06-06-06, 12:52 PM
ahh ha cool. I've found a nice blue iridium one for my helmet on ebay, brand new for £27 so will bid on that first and if not then get this pinlock one

do other people carry clear ones when riding then?

GixerBoy

If I think i'm going to get caught out on a late rideout I always take a clear visor with me..........

We have the Oxford Visor belt that James mentioned further up, we can fit both our visors in it and it can be worn round the waist or fits in a rucksack.

For example:-

have now bought an oxford visor bag as recommended :)

Dabz
14-06-06, 02:25 PM
both arrived today, the visor is apparently scratch resistant...we'll see. Geniune AGV one though. Oxford visor bag has MCN logo on which pissed me off a bit, obviously was left over from some promotion but was only £3 new so can't really complain
