right - may be going to see these 2 bikes next week. Both are similar priced:

TT600
02 reg, 15.5k, £2999
http://www.jameseades.co.uk/misc/tt.jpg

Thundercat
V reg, 18.5k, £2750
http://www.jameseades.co.uk/misc/tcat.jpg

which would people choose? I'm totally torn at the moment

I can't decide!

I think I'd have to go with the TT600, it looks just slightly better than the TC.

TT600 is the one for me. The Thundercat is a bit long legged now and looks it.

Looks like I'm in a minority. :D

the thundercat is carbs which appeals to me, but the tt600 is a later model so they'd remapped the fuel injection. bit over my budget but I may be able to stretch to it if it's good

Depends what you want them for, think I would go with the cat, but TBH they both seem a bit overpriced. I new someone who was seeling a 'W' Aprilia Falco. 13k with FASH as standard but an A1 bike for £2000k (think it might have gone now). Guess I am biased but that sounds a better deal to me and you keep £700 in your pocket!

On looks the TT600, on everything else Thundercat

bear in mind they're from a dealer, with warranty and MOT etc, so the prices are bound to be higher than private sales

TT600 looks really nice ;)

TT600 looks good, but I'd have to say ride 'em both and go with the one you prefer!

I sat on both and the tt600 felt nicer, but then it's quite a bit lighter

hoping to ride both if I manage to get down to see both of those, then decide. both are a bit overpriced though having looked at other dealers

TT600. Saying that, with that sort of budget, you could go private and get something low mileage & FSH, maybe not needing an MOT. You wouldn't get a warranty, but low miles FSH bikes shouldn't be a problem. Again, I'm biased as you could get a Falco (amongst many others) for that money. Both bikes have been superceded, so they should have lower 2nd hand values (unless they get the 'classic' or cult status).

it depends entirely on what part exchange offer i get for the bandit - if I had sold it privately there's loads of other bikes i could get but because i'm looking to part ex i'm a bit limited

also want something that's not gonna push insurance up too much, so a gixer is out the question :P

If it's styling/street cred that comes first on the priorities then go with the TT but the Thundercat looks more comfortable for longer rides. You really have to take them both for a spin to see which feels right for you. Both look nice to me but then what do I know?

They both look much the same, don't know about performance but I think let your heart guide your head when you try them. I know when I got mine, I ended up buying a different bike from the one I originally looked at ( glad I did).......Rod

Never really liked the look of that particular trumpet, as an allrounder the thundercat imo would be a better choice. But all comes down to what feels right for you:)
Or dont buy one and take everyone out on the piss with all the money you'll save:D
