Counter steering

Was talking to a guy at work about counter steering on the bike in corners,, When i was learning a few years back now . i was shown how to counter steer and use it all the time on the road and track ... yet he has passed his test this year and has never heard of it ..
Anyone eles out there who is the same :-? :-? or do you use it :-? :-?

Everyone does it, bikes don't turn any other way - just that a lot of riders don't do it consciously.

I got taught counter steering in my DAS course...but I remember Mac saying how he's learnt it after he passed and I was surprised his DAS course hadn't taught it. seems it's down to the instructor...definitely makes cornering nicer though once you do it that way instead of pushing the bike to the side

We used to mention it during DAS training then teach students in the post test lessons (which we done for free students on their own bikes to get used to them)

I was never told about counter steering in my bike lessons, but I was a student of the late great John Robinson, so I didn't need to be!
