Just read all about the Isle of Man in the latest RiDE magazine...I really really wanna go there now :P not necessarily on a TT week, but when the roads are clear so I can give it a go riding at my own pace without people there for me to get in the way of!

Has anyone been? I'm sure BB will have..

I certainly have been there once or twice Dabz! I’ve never been to the TT but have been to the Manx GP quite few times. An amazing experience to be so close to the racers - especially if you are marshalling at a remote from the public spot! – scary stuff.

It is incredible being up on the mountain when the roads are closed – before racing starts it is so quiet and you can see for miles - or not when the famous 'mist on the mountain' closes in. When the racing is underway you can hear and see them coming for miles if you are in the right place, the whole sound and feel of it is amazing, to be that close. It is also strange riding on roads empty of traffic as you rush - late again - to your marshalling post knowing the roads are closing behind you! Conversely it is lovely getting off the beaten track to some scenic spots and just relaxing and admiring the view.

I can highly recommend the island, both during and out of race weeks. The IOM is special, full of contrasts and the people are brilliant, so friendly and helpful in my experience.

And OF, people die on track days too.

Never said any different. I said before goes with the territory, as with all dangerous sports less obstacles on the track d 8-) ;)

Been to the TT a few times, we're booked for 2007 as it's the 100th year :D

Well worth going as you'll never see anything quite like it both the racing and social scene :D

going to the IOM for the TT is an amazing experience - I guess now it's all down to getting a ferry booked and finding accomodation (although there are still a good few campsites available and there is always the homestay scheme)

I'm over there from the May 31 until June 9 - going to be based in Douglas but out and about all over the island for the week

I received a call this evening confirming our visit to the TT. We sail on the Wednesday of practice week and return the following Monday.

This means we'll miss some of the racing, but not MAD SUNDAY!! :o :)

We couldn't get accomodation in Douglas, so Ramsey was the next best thing.
