Don't want to tread on your toes mate, but have added an 'either' option - I have absolutely no preference so others might be the same :)

Does anyone have any good routes or roads that would be good to ride on?
Or a final destination?? (maybe somewhere nice for some pics)

GIXER_PAUL
15-02-07, 10:56 AM
yeah we could all take the back road to Rugby then you lot can all ride home :D

Mac
15-02-07, 11:03 AM
Sensible suggestions cough cough please.... lmao

Rayzer
15-02-07, 11:16 AM
So have we decided on a suitable meeting point to start from yet ??.If we started from Newbury then maybe a ride across to Hungerford then grap some lunch and a soft drink or two, then from there depending on how far people wanna ride maybe onto salisbury to find somewhere to stop for some good pics.

Scott_W
15-02-07, 11:44 AM
Depends on where you want to go!?! If you fancied heading up the A303/M4 (we can meet you here and direct you v. easily to a meeting point for people who would use the A303) and say meeting at Basingstoke we could go down some nice roads in to Pompey as there is a good place for photo's there. We can mooch around and have a cuppa at this place (Paul/Rich/Nice - it's not where Mr T's is). Perhaps if people wanted we could hit the amusement arcades (would be funny doing the driving games in bike gear and with the helmets on! ;D).

Failing that, if it's over Newbury/Swindon direction I've got no idea on roads due to the fact of course, I'm a foreigner! ;)

Just a thought so feel free to put other thoughts up!

R1chie
15-02-07, 01:41 PM
could always meet up at the services next to me (solstice services.......where i met scott and rvfbabe last year..........obviously handy for fuel, and choccy bars for scott) and take a pootle down to Poole via Shaftesbury and Blandford

Scott_W

You only wanna meet there so you can get an extra bit of a lay in,LOL ;D.
Fall out of bed and your there.Mind you will only take me 5 mins to get there.

Scott_W
15-02-07, 02:26 PM
Richie, would that be the route we did last time out? If so, would we be going near Zig Zag hill again?! :o

R1chie

up to Shaftesbury yes, but i was thinking about missing out Zig Zag this time cos i know you're scared of it ya big wuss ;)

basically head down to Shaftesbury and then pick up the A350 to Blandford and then one of 2 ways to Poole from there

Dabz
15-02-07, 02:48 PM
I don't fancy zig zag hill again after last night, though something tells me it'd be easier on the tt than it was on the 1200 bandit! sounds like a good route, will have to have plenty of meet points for the morning so everyone can meet up somewhere near them

Scott_W
15-02-07, 02:49 PM
lol @ being scared of Zig Zag hill - at least you made it all the way up there on that occassion w/out going off in to the scenery! ;)

I'm up with doing either - Poole or Pompey. I know which my personal preference would be, but then I'm bias! ;)

SkyJawa
15-02-07, 03:20 PM
Pompey IMHO.

As its the first ride out of the year for everyone, and a fair few of us are this way over, a meet in the middle is fair amount of riding for everyone - I'd prob not go if it was Poole, quite a trek at this time of year (cold and lack of daylight).

Rayzer
15-02-07, 03:29 PM
I'm easy on both, although the shaftesbury one would be easier for me but I'll go with the flow on this one.

Scott_W
15-02-07, 03:53 PM
Think this one could be tough as half the people who will be attending will be coming from Berkshire/Surrey and one of the chaps will be heading back on up to Rugby afterwards..... The trip up to Rugby after doing a big old ride around Wiltshire could be a hard one.

Dabz
15-02-07, 04:19 PM
pompey sounds good to me, used to live there :D could get fish n chips on southsea front?

Scott_W
15-02-07, 04:26 PM
That could easily be arranged Dabz! ;)

SkyJawa
15-02-07, 04:48 PM

GIXER_PAUL
15-02-07, 08:07 PM
Pompey sounds fine though i can get from mine to their in 1.5-2 hrs in the car so should be quicker on the bike lol

Hey guys,

I should be able to make this one and know some absolutely cracking roads around Salisbury, Blandford, Shaftesbury etc - A350, A354, A30.

I'll keep an eye on this thread...

It looks as though Paul, RVFBabe and myself will not be able to make this due to a relative being taken severely ill.

We'll let you know nearer the time should things change and we can make it.
