Definitely the coldest journey in to work yet this winter, I must put the lining back in my jacket ::)

20 miles each way not far, the fairing takes the worst hit
I have been a whimp and not ridden the last 2 days, as my tyres wouldnt even get a hint of warmth the ditance I have to travel and so I wouldnt trust them on this ice.
i commute about 15 miles each way most days for work, and i've not found it too bad over the last few days, but i must say there has been a couple of mornings this winter where it has been scarily icy, i decided to take a short cut down a side road on route home, and had my back wheel spinning, and the back end fish tailing just trying to make it down the icy length of this road.
In concluesion, its not ideal commuting weather just at the moment, get hold of some good old thermals, thats helped me alot, its only my hands that get the worst of it.
Also watch out for where there putting grit down, ice is bad, but grit seems to be just as un-fun when taking corners'

Had my rear spin up on the A36 Sunday morning, accelerated, revs rose, went nowhere fast.......corners are quite interesting at the moment though........

Hands stay dry all the time plus they are really warm. I can ride in temperatures as low as 3 degrees on the motorway with no gloves on.
On the down side they look naff and above 70 the press the clutch leaver in. Hand guards would be the answer if my bike had room around the plastics to fit them

heated gloves,that run on batt's ;)
I saw ages ago that I could get plastics on the VFR then when I went to GW's (George Whites) to see if I could order some they said they only did them abroad and not in the UK for my bike, so I gave up at that point as it wasnt a Necessity, but I might hunt some down now.
Takei it easy in this weather mate!
Dont worry I will, I even rode with my feet on the ground the other day I wasnt too happy about the road around the roundabouts.
