Looks mint, but is a 10 year old bike really worth £2900??

More like £1800-2200 surely?

Nice looking bike and low mileage too :)

looks really good condition! gotta agree with the price for a 10 year old bike though - seems a bit high regardless of the mileage?

Looks to me as though the price could be justified because of the condition and mileage. Someone has obviously spent a great deal of time and care on it. The thing to be sure of though is that it's not all just cosmetic and the mechanics haven't been ignored too. 9000 miles in 10 years is nothing, in fact possibly too little. So, how many owners? Where's it been standing? For how long? etc.

to be fair two years ago I spent £2,200 on a mint Gixer 1100 WR. with only 8,000 miles from new on it. Was totally unmarked, much like yours looks there. Thing is that bike was then 13 years old. SO if its that trick as it looks and genuine mileage, my humble opinion is that it at least sounds in the right sort of ball park, depends on how many in that condition and mileage are around. But ultimately I guess its worth what you are willing to pay for it. No doubt there will be some peeps that think I am a mug for paying £2,200 for a 13 yr old gixer whatever the mileage. But I am happy with what i paid for it! Good luck if you do buy it. Looks georgous!

Yeh spent the past 2 week looking,so its in the right price range for that type of bike privat and trade ,but the trade prices seem to be a little bit to hight , the rest ive seen are in good condition with milege ranging from 12000 to 28000 all the same year,

Yes i agree its a 10 year bike, but the one im replacing is a 15 year bike, that looks tyerd and needs work/cash to make it look good ,,

whent to Fowlers at the weekend he had a R1 2000 for £3500 with 19000 on the clock ,

Also a garage round the corner to me had a red R1 1999 with 15000 on the clock but has a few marks and bent clutch lever, he is asking £2750

So for the price im getting a low mileg bike with service history isnt so bad IMHO [smiley=happy.gif]

2,500 sounds about right to me for this bike

There's one on Autotrader a 2005 with 8.3k miles on it 88 miles from Trowbridge for £3100. I think £2900 a little high for a 1999 even in that condition. With the 'old credit crunch' you should be able to get it down to £2.5k for cash

Looks pretty mint in them pics mates, sounds like quite a steep price to me, but if its really well looked after and mint as it looks from the pics, then you cant go wrong :)

I'd go in swinging 2.5k under the sellers nose first of all, but 2.7k max IMO

But of course, it's not me who's buying it.

A decent one here though... http://www.pistonheads.com/SALES/830144.htm
