The difference there is the rider, not the bike ;)
Don't let us down Ryan or all credibility will be lost lol.

lol The Gixer will be almost twice as quick to 60, you should be doing a tonne by the time he approaches breaking the National Speed limit :D
"Onfire", interesting video clip of that RS125 taking on larger middleweights. Shows it's all in the corners (ability of the rider).

I noticed theres a RS doing 172 (KMH) on there aswell! :o
cool, thay sound fast really, bet he will still loose
At the risk of being ridiculed for being a complete stick in the mud here (or insert name of your choice) I want to urge an air of caution. I don't know your mate Ryan, but I know you a little and the last thing I want to do next week is read about your and/or your mates death!
I'm not concerned in the slightest with the inherent dangers of motorcycles, hell, I love the thrill, but I am concerned with two young, relatively inexperienced mates racing around, pushing themselves beyond their abilities and taking careless risks because they were too ashamed to slow down when everything sensible was telling them to do just that.
The public roads and the hazards on them are completely unpredictable and there's nothing more dangerous on them than competition!
Please be careful.

..wise words indeed from a wise friend.Take heed and be safe! I think a "Trackday" is an Ideal time and location for such"challenges" in a safe environment .It is obvious that your bike will out accelerate the RS125 but it's the cornering that challenges oneself and presents the greatest challenges of all! regards...
Yup very wise words, thinking a bout it, i dont have to prove myself to anyone ::)
..good for you mate! well done! ;)
Ryan what Burger said is very wise words indeed, plus your mate is obviously excited about getting his bike, and doesn't know how powerful supersport/bikes can be!!!
well said guys, i didnt think of it like that when i said film it and i bet 100 pound, maybe that shows i have some growing up to do and take my biking alot more serouse. :-[

That was a pretty slow inters group, and he was on a pukka racing 125, should have been doing better than 1:06s laps, hopefully was by later on in the day - just goes to show that it's not what you're on, it's how you ride it [smiley=thumbsup.gif] I remember seeing Leon Haslam out there on a Wednesday afternoon practice session on his RS125 (Honda, not Aprilia) and he was flying - I watched a lad on a 600 gain on him down the back straight until they got to braking for the esses (in the good ol' days, before they put that poxy chicane in >:() and Leon pulled 50m on him on the brakes alone, before he tipped in.... impressive to watch. Steve Hislop was there testing the Virgin R7 at the time too, watching him tip into Gerrards at speed was pretty impressive :o

As everyone says it ain't the size of the dog in the fight but the size of the fight in the dog!
Don't bother racing on the road there will be 2 losers - even more that your both inexperianced
