View Full Version : Tyre pressures
Well, it's that time of year again, dust off the bandit and get back on the road. Going to do the usual checks over the next couple of days - but hate doing tyre pressures. Always let out more air than I put in - takes me ages - any tips? :)

Get a decent foot pump and tyre gauge. Don't use the ones at the garage forecourt. PCL make a very good gauge and it's only about £8.
Good advice - just googled PCD and got Pussycat Dolls and a rare condition called Primary Ciliary Dyskinesia. :o Don't think the Pussycat Dolls will be much use - who is PCD please? :)
Oops - just realised you put PCL not PCD - I'll try again!! :)

Halfords sell pcl. Bike magazine did a test a few years back and it beat gauges costing 3 times as much.

Have always used a Halfords foot pump.
Pumps tyres up... no probs. Has a guage on it to.
Get an angled adapter. Makes it easier to attach the pump.
E-bay below or (as you live in Trowbridge) try G M Stevens, Canal Road.

I got a good digital tyre pressure reader [smiley=thumbsup.gif] from Halfords also a right angle adaptor makes it easier.
I have a manual tyre gauge (sorry still old school prefer these to the digital ones as one time my digi one was reading off the scale on my kit car so I have always stuck with the manual ones), and then have a electric pump with a gauge on as well.
