if you had 10 grand to spend on a bike would you spend it on a classic bike you've always wanted or a modern bike you always wanted (say what bike as well:)). i'd go classic as the only way price will go is up and easier to tinker with. not to mention more fun to ride as well :). what would you guys/girls go for?????

tough one - probably modern, though 10k would almost stretch to both :P

For ten large ones it'd be possible to get one of each...

For modern I'd probably stick with what I currently have (ZX-10R - why not? It's more than fast enough for the road, and I kinda like it) and for the classic I'd get a mid-70s Z1000 (might be able to get one of those, just need to persuade the owner to sell me it...)

If it was my money I'd prob go for a classic as an investment. If it was given to me I'd get a spanking new supermoto and throw as many shiny bits at it I could in the budget

£10 grand, I'd buy more than one, or probably would get the SV done properly.

But if it have to be one bike then a classic it would be. Would like a brit bike.... not sure which, or a 80's turbo bike.

If the 10k could buy it I would buy a classic indian chief.

Modern...I've never grasped the classic appeal personally

It would have to a modern bike for me, as it is my daily transport. I am not fussed about the make or model, but the engine must have loads of torque.

When i refer to classic I'd want a modern classic like the RG500 none of this shiny crap

£10k hmm

I'd go for Suzuki GT750 old kettle.

But I do love my Z750 so may look to upgrade to a Z1 with all the trimmings.

Oh any change then book a ride on the back of the Ducati Moto GP bike with Randy Mamola [smiley=thumbsup.gif]

With me it would be modern as all the classic stuff seems so small now. I was looking at buying a classic british bike, but you put me on the front and no one could sit behind me.
£10k wouldn't buy a lot these days. My MT-01 is now £12.5k new :'(
Anyway We've just had the budget so fill up your current bikes tank, have a couple of pints and buy a packet of fags and that's your £10k gone ;D
