I have the standard seat on my fazer thou and after a couple of hours in the saddle I get a sore bum. I would welcome any ideas that would help. No puns please only constructive suggestions. lol.

Search for Putnams on tinternet and buy an inflatable stadium seat, just a little air is all you need in it and put it on your seat, nice and comfy then.

we used to use a piece of sheepskin, with some para cord to secure it to the seat.yeah i know i`m a kiwi, and you can borrow the velcro glves any time.Take it off if it`s gonna freeze cos otherwise you get piles.

If you get piles then you'll really find out what a sore bum feels like!! ;D.............not that I've got them you understand, my dear old dad is always complaining about them. :D ;D

Get a sportsbike, i find the 'canted' forward position takes the weight off my rear.

You could get one of those Air Hawk blow up seats, or you can get your seat padded out a bit more.

Isnt it funny how different people fit different bikes, I rode to the south (ish) of France on my VFR and didnt have an issue, yet a mate had the same type of bike and couldnt do more than 100 miles before needing a rest.

I think Suzuki and Yamaha offer gel seats as an optional extra might be worth checking with your local dealer.

he he he....I ride pillion on the ninja....and its like sitting on an ironing board and I have ended up with 'pins n needles' where I never knew you could get 'pins n needles' lol....... but the fact I have plenty of 'padding' in that area helps i expect lol

Thanks for all the comments. I an explorining a couple of avenues. poss gel seat. Can't do sports bikes any more cos wrists and back ache too much. I sound like a whinging old man. I suppose a sore bum is a small price to pay for the pleasure I get from riding my bike. No gain without pain, so they say. Cheers all

There's lots of us can't do the sports bike thing now due to age or injury and not necessarily winging old men! ::)

Cheaper option is the cycling shorts with gel pads in them, wear them under your leathers.

They had the cycling shorts in Aldi recently. Don't know if any still in there.

MM but they are meant to sit over a thin razor blade not not a fat bike seat, surley this would make for an-uncomftable ride ( oh err)

You could always replace the bike for an old one, like mine, cos the seats on them are awsome << shame I never get to ride it :'(
