so did the viper strike through his mod 1 today?
Are you "Mod-one'd" Viper ???
I forget, is Mod 1 the one in a car park Mod 2 out on the road ?
(I did mine just before it changed).
G
Update. V1per missed the strike on his mod 1 today
I got no faults at all, but did have to do the speed avoid test again at the right speed.
I was too fast on the emergency stop with too much back brake, which locked up the back wheel , i need to stop thinking of car/van and using my right foot too brake.
i know the post is late, but ive been so peedoff with my self, cos i know i can do it. :( :( :( :( :(
Yes Gerry that is correct

Dont worry v1per, it actually helps if you have to redo mod 1. I was so pissed at the fact that i had to redo it, i was not nervous at all the second time round.
You will do it next time mate.
[smiley=thumbsup.gif]
First well done on your CBT [smiley=thumbsup.gif]
and so sorry you didn't get Mod 1 under your belt today :(
When the rear wheel locked up did you lose control? thought so long as you kept bike under control you'd be ok, or was it the speed you did on the emergency stop?
Don't see the point of a set speed, :-/ don't we ride at different speeds when out on the road and whos to say your next avoidance or emergency stop won't be at low or hight speed .
You'll be ok next time you do your Mod 1 ;)
I find this new test system very confusing... no faults but you still don't pass... how does that work? Surely no faults means no faults?
Anyway, sorry for your outcome, but I guess it's like Nicky said... next time you'll be much more relaxed.
Regards,
All the best next time V1per - agree with you Dave - no faults surely means no faults i.e a pass? I don't get it either! Maybe Mark or Freddie will be ABLE to enlighten us! ;D [smiley=thumbsup.gif]
but i did do the hill start on a 125, u can ask Nicko ;)
Lorraine

even tho he locked back wheel V1per still had control of the bike so can't see why it was a fail :-?

Well, as disapointed as we all are for the V1per, :-/ I can only imagine that the lengh of the skid must have affected his decision. If you lock up the rear wheel and don't act quick enough to release and re-apply, then the examiner could interpret this as having little or no control of the brake. :o I know what your going to say, 'If he has had no faults on anything else, surely the examiner could not have been so harsh' >:( I don't know can't answer that one.. :-[ Sorry V1per..
but i did do the hill start on a 125, u can ask Nicko ;)
That means I owe you a pint! [smiley=thumbsup.gif]

Stu ur a day late m8

Locking the either wheel is regarded as 'loss of control'. You can fail a test by picking up no minor faults. It only takes one serious or dangerous fault to fail. ::)

02-06-10, 09:46 PM
Also, the minimum speed for the carrying out the E-stop is 50km. However, the more you exceed the minimum, the more difficult it is to stop.
Bike test or car test, a skid is considered to be out of control. If the brake is released and reapplied, so preventing a skid, that is acceptable. If the skid is only for a couple of feet, that isn't considered to be out of control. If the skid is for 20 yards, with little or no front brake being applied, you're going to fail. It's incorrect use of the brakes, and in the real world would lead to an accident. Unfortunate though it is, it wasn't a pretty stop from V1per. :-?
Ok everyone, i know wot i did wrong, now its time to forget it and think about wot to do next time, less speed and back brake, stop thinking car/van braking, but on a good note, the thing i was worried about messing up, i nailed.
Thanks to you all

well done on trying viper......it aint easy, but the more practice you have at it all, the better rider it'll make you......you have done well to get as far as you have in such a short space of time and should be proud of yourself.
Good Luck for next time..... keep smiling and keep your chin up..... I had to after dropping mine 3 times......but sheer stubborness and determination kept me going and will continue to until i become a fully fledged biker...... so keep positive!!
;D ;D ;D
Yeah, all the best V1per - it will soooooooooo be worth it in the end! [smiley=thumbsup.gif]

You could always have a holiday in Gib, pay £45 and get your full licence like I did.
The tester chases you round on a 50cc thing and, as long as you can ride, you'll get your licence[smiley=thumbsup.gif]
