View Full Version : Ron Haslam Race School
Having just done another Ron Haslam Race School i would strongly recomend it to anybody unless they are already a trackday regular.
Before you all switch off and say I don't do trackdays, i would just say that it isn't a trackday really and the race school thing is a bit of a misnomer unless you have the ability and the desire to lap quickly.
Yes you do ride a race prepped but standard CBR600RR round silverstone but you can ride at your own pace with 1 instructor to 2 participants. There are always people there who wobble round but still have a great day improving their riding at the same time.
I was thinking of trying to organise a WB trip next year if there is any interest.
Please let me know your thoughts and if you might be interested.
Anything that gives me biking experience I'm interested in [smiley=thumbsup.gif]

Race schools are definately a great way to improve your skills. Let me have a word with someone, as we might be able to get a good group discount... :-?

If you have no luck then I could probably wangle it.
I know one of the instructors.

Hi,
Sounds like fun to me, I would like to give it a go [smiley=thumbsup.gif]

I'd be interested. Anything that helps improve my riding skills and get me to finally get some scratches on my kneepads without pulling them from velcro and scrapping on the pavement works for me. [smiley=thumbsup.gif] [smiley=thumbsup.gif] [smiley=thumbsup.gif] [smiley=thumbsup.gif]
mmmm like the sound of that.... 8-)
Always wanted to do this race school, if you do get a group day sorted, give lots of notice so i can get the funds sorted lol
Did Drayton Croft school at Mallory a few years ago.... was one of the best days riding I've ever done.
Would be interested depending on cost.

I have done California Super Bike School and it was excellent - not cheap by any means though! :o
I'd be interested in doing this if it goes ahead

It's £279 on the website, but this includes the bike and fully comp insurance.
I've been on tracks with my own bike before and you can easily plan on changing your tyres and generally you're not insured, so this seems like a pretty good deal to me, given that you've got rubber included and no risk to your own bike.
I would have thought a group would be able to get some discount perhaps.
I have to say thought, I'd feel better doing it with a group of people I didn't know.

Hi
when you have dates let me know, but count me in
Nick
Good price, whats the usual price?
When you have dates also let me know. You can count me in!! :D
The dates for next year haven't been announced yet but the dates usually run from April to October which should give people plenty of time to book holidays and/or save the pennies.
I think the dates for 2011 are due to be announced around the time of the bike show. It might be a plan to run a poll when I work out how to do it to see when people would be interested in going.
My initial thoughts would be sometime in May.

Well ladies and gents I am now taking offers for interest in the Ron Haslam Race School for Wednesday 18th May around Lunch time.
Several of you have expressed an interest previously but please bear with me and add your name to the list if you wish to go.
Remember that the reduced rate is based on a minimum of 10 riders so I will aim to get 10 riders before I make any provisional bookings and place a deposit. When the booking is made a £50 deposit per person will be required with the balance due before the date.

Do believe you have to be off the 33BHP license to do these. Be great if someone can confirm?
i contacted the ron haslam race school as i'm currently on this licence and they said it would be fine. If however you where renting a bike from a company you do need to have the correct catagory for the bike.

The only criteria is that you are able to ride a bike with clutch and gears, thats it. No license or any other requirements.
