Drivers should be"Bike Aware".but with no disrespect intended to either party,I for one would not be "showboating" near such a siding for this exact reason! This is the kind of clips I saw on the police bikesafe course. Ride safe out there!

100% riders fault. How far away was the bend he'd just come around? 150m. I'd put the riders speed at about 60mph which would give the van driver about 4 seconds to see him and react, to avoid a collision, which he did.
This sort of thing is the fastest way to get a bike night shut down.
Bit of a lesson there in the perils of playing up to an audience... ::)
Way way way way way too fast for that bit of road. Complete knob, no sympathy for them.
How Fast!!!! The camera man was lucky to to be had by that!!!
Should be show as an example of not watching the road and being a twazzock!!

Wow that guy is sooo cool. Wish I could ride like that...
NOT! >:(
this is similar to what happened to me but mine was a stupid driver, riding in convoy, a driver pulled out right between us, panicked and just stopped in the road but further across than the van was, had no other choice but to go down or hit oncoming traffic. admittedly i was speeding, but only 40 in a 30 but had nowhere near the notice this guy got.
ride like an idiot and expect to crash simples

Everyone who's been to Cadwell has a picture like that. I'd be impressed if you took the Mountain like Josh Brooks... ;)
As regards showing off... time and place. Not on the road. You'll always end up looking a bigger plonker in front of your mates anyway. Rarely have I seen showing off not end in tears... :)
