View Full Version : I, Superbiker
Found this on crash.net...
A new film set to be released in the spring will, for the first time, feature the exploits of four motorcycle racers as they compete at speeds of up to 200mph. I, Superbiker, shot in high-definition, follows four riders as they race wheel-to-wheel in the 2010 MCE Insurance British Superbike Championship.
The two-wheeled gladiators risk life-and-limb at each race meeting knowing that there can be only one champion. As well as capturing stunning on-track action, the film goes behind-the-scenes to follow the unfolding drama amongst wives, girlfriends, team-mates and managers. Everyone wants their rider to win, and passions are aroused when things go wrong.
The heroes of the story are Tommy Hill, Josh Brookes, James Ellison and Gary Mason. Hill is the great British hope – having cheated death at the age of just 14, he is now fearless. Countryman Ellison has made incredible personal sacrifices to race; he finished second the previous year, and must become champion to save his career.
Brookes earned the nickname 'Bad Boy' after receiving a two-race ban during his debut season in 2009; an Australian who races in black leathers, he would love to steal the crown from the Brits. Mason is the oldest of the quartet and competes on a factory-prepared Kawasaki; unfortunately, with his performances declining, 2010 will be his last season if he doesn't start winning.
Emphatically not an 'end-of-season review', I, Superbiker is an authentic documentary intimately following the fortunes of four riders knowing that only one of them can win.
Directed by Mark Sloper ('Final Cut' and 'Small Time Obsession'), the film score is by David Vanian of The Damned, with music by Phil Collen of Def Leppard and Man Raze.
I, Superbiker will be launched on 10 March at cinemas nationwide, and will be available on DVD on 4 April. For the full list of screenings, visit: www.isuperbiker.com

There's an interesting review on the Bikesport news website here (http://www.bikesportnews.com/features-detail.cfm?featureid=4697&featuretitle=I,-Superbiker:-review-from-the-first-screening-in-that-there-London)
Apparently there's going to be a 3D IOM TT movie (http://www.iomtt.com/News/2010/04/20/Isle-of-Man-TT-set-to-go-3D.aspx) this year as well

Oops got that wrong, Its supposed to say March, not Feb!!!
I'll wait till it comes out on DVD, then borrow it from someone else.
Comfier seats, better sound, bigger clearer screen (relative to the distance away from us it is) and nicer food at home than at the flea pits 8-)
I've just seen that it's listed at the Empire, Greenbridge in Swindon for Monday 14th March, 20:30
Ooo I'm off on Monday 14th ;D
Arsebiscuits! Just remembered that I have Spanish Evening class on Mondays... oh well, I'll wait for it to come out on DVD. The BikeSport News review said it's directed more at an audience who aren't familiar with the ins and outs of racing, not at those who've been involved.
Hope everyone who watches it enjoys it :)
Not long before this show now---who's planning to go?

Hope you're feeling better soon Jac ;)
Aww thanks Charley x and Street hippo, I want to come out to play but umm I tend to throw up whenever I move :-/
good news, got some drugs so hopefully 48 hours and the sickness should be gone :)
enjoy the film, no snogging in the back row or throwing pop corn, and if one of you could record it on your phone so we call all see it that'll be grand ta [smiley=thumbsup.gif]
Good to see so many familiar faces there—the theatre was packed and I literally had the last seat in the house! I hear it was sold out about 25 mins before the start. Weird, because there seemed not to be much else going on there tonight; I'm sure they could easily have used a bigger theatre, or even had two showings. Sorry it meant StreetHippo & son didn't get in :(
Even knowing how it was going to end, I thought they did a pretty good job building some suspense, and there were lots of brilliant race moments... but I don't think it'll win any Oscars! ;)
Really pleased you got in Ro, when I sat down there looked to be about three empty seats !
Think you summed up the film well, very much like the usual telly "season review" but looked better on a big screen.
Sorry for those that went but missed out and hope you feel better soon Jackie x

Any sign of me doing my marshalling duties? I appear 3 or 4 times in the season review. Missed it due to flying back from Edinburgh to Bristol. :(

Yes we all spotted you and waved [smiley=vrolijk_26.gif]
It was about half way through and it showed a close up of you. Unfortunately you were yawning and looking at a cute girl in the crowd when No 7 crashed into No 33.
Spectacular accident - pitty you missed it ;)
G ;)
PS... When the DVD comes out you must let us know where to look mate [smiley=thumbup.gif]
