I'd be happy to be part of a final escort too, give him a proper send off even though I didn't know him - once we have dates and times I can confirm one way or the other with work.

Still no date for Dom's funeral yet but as soon as I know I'll post the details. I'll also pm those who have said they'd join us.

P.s. We have received permission for Dom's band, The Mangars, to play during the service in the church so it will be a fitting tribute from the bandys . All welcome.

UPDATE: (taken from FB)

Rachel Hammond
Hi everyone, thanks for joining the group. We have, at last, a date for Dom's funeral. Wednesday 27th April. The church service starts at 1:30 pm so can I suggest everyone who can make it, meet up at 12:30 ish at my place. If the kettle copes with the pressure, you might get a cuppa. I live in a cul-de-sac so we'll be able to park up and wait without getting in the way of the high street too much. I live in Willis Way in Purton. number 25. Look out for a bright yellow Nissan 350z and a silver MR2. I hope you can all make it. Xxxx
The plan is that everyone is welcome in the church before the ride out to the crematorium. And everyone is welcome at The Angel afterwards for a few.

I so look forward to meeting you all and thanks so much for your support.

RIP Dom. We miss you. Xxx

Hi all. Well, Wednesday approaches and I can't decide if I'm glad it's gonna be over or dreading the day finally arriving. A long time has passed since we lost Dom and it sometimes feels like yesterday.

I'm so looking forward to meeting everyone who has agreed to join our final ride with Dom and below is the order of service for your information. Everyone is welcome at the church, crematorium and The Angel, Purton afterwards for a few beers.

There will be some bikes gathering at the top of Hoggs Lane where Dom lived. These are friends of Dom's Dad, Tad, who is a biker himself. I'd appreciate it if everyone coming from this group could meet at my house, 25 Willis Way, Purton so that we don't cause too much commotion outside the house. Willis Way is just opposite Hoggs Lane and we will easily be able to join up with the cars as they leave for the church. I'll be in from 11:00 with a hot kettle ready.

On arrival at the church, if we could gather at the back to allow friends and family to be seated first. I don't know how many people are expected to turn up so if we could be seated last, it would be appreciated. I hope everyone can get comfortably seated but please be prepared to stand if necessary. I will be standing with you all too as my partner Mark is playing in the band and we cannot be together on the day.

Dom's mum and dad, Wendy & Tad, are very approachable and would love to meet all of you personally if you wish to say hello etc...

Tad has informed the police that the bikes will be following the hurse and they may be providing out riders, so please make sure that all your bikes are legal and taxed.

I think that's it.... Just to say once again, Thank You all for your support and kindness and I look forward to meeting everyone.

Rachel.
