TEENAGE off-road rider Ricky Imber died on Saturday after his Yamaha 450 dirt bike crashed into the back of a farm trailer as he rode along a track on Salisbury Plain just a couple of miles from his home.
Mr Imber, 19, who lived in Enford just south of Pewsey, sustained multiple injuries after he lost control of his motorbike as he rode along the track near Netheravon at about 2pm on Saturday and the off road bike collided with the rear of the farm trailer loaded with timber.
The rider was airlifted to Salisbury District Hospital by the Wiltshire Air Ambulance but died a short time later PC David Cooper from the Wiltshire Police serious collision investigation team said: “The off-road motorcycle was being ridden along a track in an area which is open to the public.”
The motorcycle struck the rear of the trailer and was extensively damaged although there was little damage to the trailer.
Specialist crash investigators spent five hours recording the scene of the crash just off Wexland Avenue in Netheravon.
