i rode past a E plate CBR400RR for sale earlier...so i stopped n had a poke about.

its in pretty bad state....right hand fairing and engine casing scratched up...looks like a slide.

does anyone know if parts are easily got at? and any idea what its worth? showing 43k on clocks tax and MOT tilll march 12.

ok bloke just text back he wants £700 but it needs a new rear shock......seems pricey to me

Very pricy, 300 quid too much if you ask me.

Being a 400 I would imagine it is a grey import so spares will not be that easy to get hold of.

Carry on shopping

There are plenty of parts around for a CBR400 if you know where to look.

No offence Dan, but you don't appear to be the most savvy of mechanics, bikes requiring remedial work might be best avoided...

LOVED my CBR400RR... top bike, great handling and speed!

Yes - grey import but parts still available from David Silver etc?

Fairings will now be 20+ years old and will more than likely have touched tarmac once or twice??

Offer him £500+/-, if he refuses leave your number & wait.

The Bike would be a CBR400RR NC23 Triarm, bombproof motor with geared cam-drive, I would buy another in a heartbeat. :)

I disagree. I have never had problems getting spares and service parts for my CBR400. Mine is also a NC23 and a grey import. Fairings, yes may be an issue, but the last time I checked getting new plastic for a 20 year old bike is not as simple as wondering in to Fowlers any more.

I agree. Most bikes of this age will have some issues with it but if its "in a bad state" £400 would be edging toward generous.

CRB400 is great fun. Handles brilliantly and goes well for a 400.
