My other half just got in.
There has been an accident on the A338 just south of Salisbury involving a bike and a BMW.
Apparently an old woman, in her 80's pulled out of her driveway a bit swiftly when bikes were coming and one bike hit the back of beemer, the impact removed the rear bumper of the car and ruptured the tank of the bike.
Woman gets out of her car, sees biker led in the road and says to her gardener (one of my neighbours who heard the crash and gone up the drive) "i can't hang around, I've got an appointment at the doctors" then gets in her car and buggers off to Downton to her appointment leaving the poor guy in the road.
Just heard the police are now there to see her and she's just told same gardener that "a motorbike just hit my car, he was overtaking a white van"
Which as we know is untrue but if it was true she's pulled out on a white van instead.
Bet she'll be in trouble. bound to be at least a fifty quid fine in it.
Guy was conscious and walking after so hopefully not too badly off after this dopey old bag tried to kill him

she has committed a offence by leaving the scence of a accident...

Driving tests should be taken every five years
The roads would be much safer for all of us 8-)
Quite unbelievable, they have absolutely no idea whats going on , probably leaves a trail of carnage wherever she goes >:(

It's a terrible accident but would a retest actually ensure people have, if nothing else, the common decency to actually stop when they've injured another person?
That's the bit I find astounding - the total lack of remorse or care for an injured person.
I'd stop and help anyone sod being late for a doctors appointment or anything else.
This is nowt to do with driving ability and more to do with the attitude of these people.... Flog 'em! >:(

If her bumper was ripped off was she reversing out of her driveway onto a main road? If so yet another offence committed. These type of rules are there for a reason! >:(

That was my immediate thought, why can't people reverse their cars onto the drives? The highway clearly states that drivers should not be reversing out of their drive onto a road, unless the road is minor - it's a lack of due care and attention.
I hope the victim sticks her insurance (and therefore her premium) for a load of injuries and stress and I hope the police prosecute.
Hopefully she got bad news from the doctors and isn't allowed to drive anymore .

It's called laziness. I always reverse my van on to my drive which pisses off people waiting for me to get in but it's a nightmare trying to reverse off
