Blade = probably the best all rounder

2004-2005 R1 = beautiful looking bike (possibly best looking Jap bike ever)

2004-2005 ZX10 = You have to ride it to understand!

So the bike you should buy is.......a k5 gsxr

Hope this helps

I'm leaning to the 954, always wanted one in white/blue. ZX10 has to be green, R1 doesn't do it for me, Gsxr i like the 2010 best...but i'm lusting after an RSVR factory :) How 'un' reliable are they?

5 of my mates have owned milles. None of them had any trouble. Being a big lumpy twin you need to keep the battery tip top. They did some odd things with them though. One year (possibly 2003) the factory only came as a mono. One year they didn't do a factory and just upped the spec on the R. There are some real bargains to be had and they're usually well looked after.

I'm not a fan of 'lazy' twins, but each to their own.

Sp1, I am a fan of twins, can't beat a shed load of grunt at low revs. Also i recon its a future classic. :)

SP1 is a classic already, priced as such, and way to uncomfy for me. I'm not really after a twin, just fancy an RSVR.

rsv has a rotax engine which is bullet proof. just make sure its had the swinging arm mod done if needed and the rear brake master cylinder has been moved as they get to hot and the rear brake fades if left in standard position

Good luck finding one for 4 grand!

One of the guys I went to Italy with was on a k5 (albeit a brand new one) and he couldn't stop raving about it. And he's owned A LOT of bikes and a lot of styles. He proclaimed it to be "the best sports tourer he's ever ridden" ;D

Twin exhausts as in shotgun style, one-either-side Gen 1, or the Gen 2 RSV?

Either way, they are out there. Get onto the Aprilia owner's forums:

Ollie was selling 53 reg RSV his not sure if its still for sale but he works at the cycle shop by Peugeot in Swindon. Could be worth popping in and speaking to him as it was just sat doing nothing in his garage
