No lights? No mudguards means you'll get a mucky bum? Pillion is going to get a rather chaffed flange from the lack of pillion seat? Can't be much of a daily rider? :D
Seriously, do all customs have to have a bloody V-twin? Use your imagination people... ::)
Will give it a miss, spent half the day polishing a fecking huge chrome Harley Engine. Still more of it to do tomorrow!
Not my cuppa I must confess.

Can't see the image but I think I know the one. A bit too over the top. I think 1700cc is big enough (but they do big bore kits and turbo's for an MT-01 just in case)

I know what you mean most customs use Harley engines WHY. If you want a custom tractor use a Massey Ferguson engine ;D
Now a nice Triumph twin with a reversed head on it. Yum. Or a big single.
V-twins are slim and fill the frame space better than anything else so I guess that's why they're the most popular.
A Vincent v-twin would make a very pleasant change :) Or a Rotax990 for something a bit more modern (slightly biased) :D
I'm surprised there aren't more of this sort of thing using air-cooled Ducati engines.
Most use S&S engines because of the ease of mounting and ease of modding compared to the Ducatti or Japanese engines.
It does however make for a fairly formulaic motorcycle.... and I love the ones which use odd engines or novel frames.
