I went for a Marushin as my first helmet a year ago from GW's. Was cheap, on offer and one of the few that actually fitted. I wasnt impressed with the build quality and overall design, but had the relevant approved markings - so I guess it was OK.

Passed, got a "premium" lid now and its got a better design etc. But Christ on a bike, what the hell with that shatter thing - it mustnt have passed any form of testing. And judging by the video, I assume this isnt the UK?

We bought the Marushin on fit and safety ratings. My wife tried on several more expensive lids but they didn't seem to fit comfortably.

T'was in the US. The standards are different (or absent) over there, allowing that type of hat to be used. Out EU standars I suspect are much more rigerous.

The theory of if you haven't heard the brand name then don't buy the lid goes to show why!
Never had a cheap helmet because I don't trust them.

If people choose to put on cheap gear/equipment then what can be expected....You get what you pay for.. How many people bought £25.00 helmets,gloves and boots from discount warehouses.... The majority of kit these days are made in China...But it all comes down to.. You get what you pay for..
