Whats the deal on MOT's for Akrapovics. My RSV has them fitted. the code on the end cans if I look them up say road legal. the problem is it looks like it should have removable baffles as I can see a bolt in the opening but no baffles.

I don't think the cans are major loud, you think its best to source some standard cans for the MOT?

Cheers
Garv :)

On mine it's road legal with a baffle and not without one. My MOT testers usually just listen to it and make a judgement call - never had a noise meter anywhere near it.

Hey wanted to ask you something..What do you think about the following. Do you know what it entails, is it worth doing?

There is an installation guide on the link page. Is it hard? Please advise

umm yep..thanks dunno what happened there...lol...check out the installation guide. Im wanting to know how difficult it is to rejet the carbs. If it is needed at all. I have managed to get some aftermarket pipes and they should be with me in a few days. I dont want to experience and running issues or backfiring or blueing.

taliesin

you dont always need to rejet with after market pipes, its usually when you change air filters to compensate for extra air, best to try pipes on and see what happens,as for after market pipes,a lot of them will blue, cause of the way they are made, any way, blue looks nice ;)

Jon_W

I'd not be worried by blue pipes. Is the hot gas hitting the metal. On most moder systems the pipes are double skinned so you never see this, but on aftermarket the pipes are usually single skin.

Here is is on the cub:

http://i68.photobucket.com/albums/i36/teleSV650/exhaust.png

Is concentrated around the sharp bend at the head of the pipe and cools off down the pipe through purple and straw colours. Looks great on most bikes.
