If anybody who likes bike racing fancies standing the other side of the fence for next season the racesafe marshal recruitment opens this month. it usually opens for a period of 2 weeks after the final round of the BSB so if you are interested this is the only chance you will get. There will be a training session for new marshals in the new year which will include, flagging, bike recovery and rider recovery.

A few points:
You can do as few or as many events as you wish in a season which includes 2 x WSB and the MotoGP.
You must do a minimum of 2 days a weekend including the raceday.
Breakfast is usually provided.
Dedicated marshal campsite with mains hookup.
Free guest ticket for each meeting.
Your friends can text or call you to say " ive just seen you on telly"

The bad bits.
No going home when the sidecars are on.
it can sometimes be cold and wet - for all three days

Having read this far the link if you are interested is here:

having marshalled for many years, MX and road you probably wont get to do WSB or moto GP in your first year at least. there is usually too many volunteers and unless you do every meeting that year for all 3 or 4 days wont qualify, on the other hand NGMCC our local club are also on the look out as ever, usefull to join them and learn your trade http://www.ngroadracing.org/marshals.htm, will help as Nino , Steve and most of the rest of the NGMCC organisers are highly placed in the organisers of BSB, WSB and motoGP in the UK.

Good points but....., i had 4 novices on my post for the motogp and a similar number for the WSB. Nino is always on the lookout for new marshals for NG as well so why not do both.

p.s other clubs and branches of motorsport are available.
