A few of us are having heated grips fitted by Nooj at a cost pf £40. If anyone else is interested can you please let me know as he can do 6 in one day (at his house in Newbury). We are probably looking to have it done sometime in September.

I had mine fitted by Nooj and they are fab......and yes they have a switch so no worries about flat batteries........they made all the difference when I went to Wales recently....in torrential rain and strong winds.....they made it possible to actually enjoyed it....I hate cold hands :) :)

I think Mitch is asking if they are switched to the ignition? So, to find out, if the heated grip switch is ON but the ignition switch is OFF, do they still operate?

That's what would drain the battery - if they did still work with the ignition off and you forget to turn them off at the switch ;)

Looks like we have 7, if more people would like this done I'm sure Nooj would do another day. I can highly recommend having heated grips, surprising what a difference it makes, even on chilly evenings in the summer! :)

They were absolute swines to get on the lh grip on my blade, ended up drifting them on, no amount of soap and brute force would do it.

The Speed3 has the grips moudled onto the throttle tube (same as Aprilias). Fitting the heated grips would have meant filing/dremelling the ridges down on the throttle tube. Possible, but tedious and irreversible. Agreed with Di to leave it.

Can Saturday now be classed as fully booked? There's a good 6 hours work there at least and I'd like to leave spare time for any unforseen issues and a few cups of tea :-)

Interested folk, drop me a PM and I'll send payment details through by return. £200 quids worth of grips there, so I'm afraid I need payment in advance.

I've ordered all the grips from R&G, but they are on back order as they've run out. They've admitted to being 'caught short' and say they're expecting 1000 sets to come in next week, so yours should all be with me by the 16th... fingers crossed!

I reckon it takes me about 1 hr 20 mins to do a set on average (provided I don't get any more perished/splitting fuel lines to deal with!). I'll be opening up about 09:00, so as long as I get one person turning up every hour or so, that should do me.

Or you can all turn up together at 09:00 the morning, either is good for me.

Newbury town centre is only a 10 minute walk away, so if you want to go and explore that's fine. Or you can hang around here for the day drinking tea :-)

To get to Nooj's by 9am, we are going to have to leave Trowbridge by 7.30, we don't have to all be there for 9am but it would be nice if we rode together. What do you all think? Or, if Speedy would be kind enough to take the first place we could leave a little later! :-* :-* :-* I realise that it's just as far for you to get to Newbury so understand if you don't want to get up that early! :)

Had chance to try my new grips out for the first time yesterday and very impressed. At half heat they were warm enough even though it was fairly chilly on the way home.

So that's 3% of my body warm, next to work on the other 97% :)
