Anybody had or got a Ducati 999

I've owned loads of different bikes and have always fancied a Ducati 999...I know its madness. ;) :)

Just cant get it out of the system and just need to own one.

Just wondered if anyone here has had one or has one and what they really think/thought of it.

Only ridden a 749, but it was one of the best handling bikes I've ever ridden.

Not exactly practical though. You get a hot arse and back ache round town and you have to use the mirrors to look under your armpits to see what's behind you.

The shallower of the 916/996/998 owners will shun you, there's a fair bit of snobbery about the 999 being 'ugly' and not a 'real' Ducati as it doesn't have a single sided swingarm. But why would you buy a bike to please somebody else? :-?

Less desirability means cheaper prices as well :)
