Sounds like maybe the fuel pump or fuel management isn't giving any juice to ignite

Not a hard job but you are going to need to flush the entire system. Where in Wiltshire are you if you dont mind me asking. If in Salisbury I might be able to help you.

Do you have any mechanical knowledge

Maz

No, cars a little bit but bikes only minimal. I know how to take out the battery and I fixed the headlight buly taking it apart and fitting a new screw for it but its easy that bit.

I think you said it had carbs. If so I dont mind coming to help if you cant get it here. Can do it Sunday if you like. All I ask is you help out with my fuel and possibly whatever you think the job is worth. Sorry to ask but times are hard for us at the moment.

You need to empty the tank anyway, you could try emptying it and putting some new fuel in then see what happens when you try to start it. It won't make it any worst.

Yu[ if it's carbs then try putting fresh fuel in, sticking the fuel tap on prime and crank it over for as much as the battery will take - you might get a spark and ignition and then job done

Thats fine, the bike is an XVS 250. The bike isnt the best of shape due to the previous owner. Do you need anything tool wise? The aa guy came and had a look battery is fine, sparkies are ok but I will meed to change them this year and he said he is sure its the fuel and when I said its been in since November and havent been anywhere really so its got a full tanlk.
