Red Lion Avebury?

[Major Confusion]

Could anybod confirm please there is no bike night at the Red Lion Avebury I know it was knocked on the head in 2009 but I'm not sure? Been asked the question.

I've been along a few times and never found anyone there.

I believe the Honda Owners Club meets there once a month.

There was a regular meet there but the NIMBYs bleated to the council and the landlord was told that "regular" meets i.e. any kind of organised gatherings had to stop. That doesn't mean that any group of like-minded individuals can't congregate there purely by coincidence (if you catch my drift), but don't make a habit out of it, such as the same time every week. ;)

To be honest, some of the punters who used to frequent the pub were probably as much to blame as the NIMBYs; loud pipes, leaving the pub like they were on the first lap of a race, wheelies, behaviour guaranteed not to endear them to anyone nearby. The plod often had a speed camera van on the corner by the pub (looking towards Wroughton), it'd be interesting to learn how many people they nicked, and how many of them were on bikes... :-?

I used to go but so pissed of with being followed from calne and then back again.
Wasn't worth it.

We stopped going when a traffic warden with a Police escort turned up every week.

Any farmers with a spare barn on here? Private 'party' once a week for bikers only?

Go there at the weekend ant there is a steady stream of bikes in and out of the pub.

As Dabz says there is a good meet on wednesday at the Harp and Crown, Gastard.

I heard the pub had a ASBO served on it.
That doesn't stop individuals turning up or meeting friends, however it does stop the pub organising an official bike night themselves.
