At last, a follow on to Long Way Round and Long Way Down. Shame it's on Apple TV this time but hopefully it'll be out on dvd eventually.

Interesting that they're on electric Harley prototypes too. Not sure what that'll do for the adventure...you can hardly disappear off to the middle of nowhere for a week with a couple jerry cans of electricity.

Maximise their income from HD's shilling, not that I blame them and I look forward to watching it. Not on Apple TV though which seems an odd choice.

98 miles of range in a city...so I bet HD send a support crew and they switch to new bikes when the charge runs out. Otherwise in 100 days they’d only do 10,000 miles not 13,000 given an 8 hour recharge time.

    Not exactly a touring bike

I read some stuff on the Adventure Rider forum a while ago saying that Ewan & Charley’s accompanying support crew carried generators - I’m sure that if this were to be true there wouldn’t be any evidence of them escaping the editor’s knife to keep the products of the major sponsor of the trip from looking bad... somebody gives you free bikes and bankrolls your latest jolly, you don’t make ‘em look stupid...

We’ve just started re-watching Long Way Round and while it’s entertaining and slickly produced, Austin Vince’s trips such as Terra Circa and Mondo Enduro are far more authentic - a bunch of guys riding relatively low-tech bikes all over the world, no big names or big budgets, and importantly NO SUPPORT CREWS IN 4x4s! If you haven’t seen any of these, they’re well worth tracking down. That said, we’ll no doubt watch Ewan & Charley’s latest one when it’s more widely available.

With the crew following, they had the same for the BMW's I believe they even had spare bikes. It's entertainment not real adventure. I think if you want to do it "hardcore", you buy a Royal Enfield Himalayan. Internet seems full of videos of people riding them round the world solo.

I'm hoping it'll be entertaining. As far as advertising the HD goes, there's no way a 98 mile range can be a sensible purchase - least not for £29k. The mid-rideout splash and dash turns in to many hours sat waiting for charge? I think not
