After not meeting many biking friends since last year, a bunch of WB old timers got together for appropriately distanced coffee and nattering, followed by an enjoyable hack around familiar roads and were then spoiled by our host laying on some top tucker.
We RV’d at CharleyX’s house and had a quick coffee and catch-up, then I led the group of Chicky, Caz, CharleyX, Viking and Gerry along some old familiar roads from Marlborough - Hungerford - Wantage - Newbury - Lambourn and back to the start. Roads that I kind of took for granted while living in Newbury as they were on my doorstep, but were really enjoyable to visit again after an absence of several years.
It was great to socialise finally with friends after being denied the opportunity for months, and we’re all looking forward to the next time. Strange how simple things that we were so familiar with seem so much more poignant after prohibition.

Did you avoid the rain showers? Was about to go out this afternoon when we had a series of short sharp showers come through

We could learn a lot from crayons; some are sharp, some are pretty, some are dull, while others bright, some have weird names, but they all have learned to live together in the same box.”

We had one or two very light spots of rain on the ride - literally a couple of light drops on the visor, and a few once back at Charley’s but that was all. We were fortunate then, as I did spot some showers around the Melksham - Trowbridge area from up on Bowden Hill on our way home, must have been around 18:30...
