If you knew someone, 5'4", wanted to do CBT, what 125cc to buy? Up to £1500 'ish?

The Yamaha YBR125 seems to be a favourite with a lot of learners , and the YBR Custom may have a slightly lower seat height .

Probably won't be a popular choice due to the "don't buy Chinese bikes" mentality (er that'll be 80% of new bikes on the road nowadays) but having personally owned 3 and covered 25000+ miles and never having had a single problem I wholeheartedly recommend lexmoto 125s.
Can't speak for any other Chinese bike but IMO Lexmoto make decent bikes and you can buy a brand spank me new 125 for around £1400 on the road. Bargain.

Seen a few of the Yamaha R125's about and they look really cool, not sure on the price tho
Cruiser? I learn't to ride on a Kawasaki ELIMINATOR, and felt like Arnie everywhere I rode. It was great. Very stable, much better than the Van-Van I learn't on. Nice and low seat height, can probably find one for less private sale.

I had a ybr 125 and was really comfortable on it and I’m only 5’3”! Was really light and easy to manoeuvre as well! (Although I didn’t try and lift it like the guy above lol!)
I bought my girlfriend a ybr a couple of months ago and she loves it.
Having ridden it myself I was pleasantly surprised. It's really light, very easy to handle and build quality looks good too.
I thought going from 160 bhp to 11 might be a bit too much but it keeps up with traffic and is great around town.
Make sure you shop around and buy the best you can as they come in 2 conditions, mint and sh*t order.
The other good thing is they don't look like a little bike.
