Fellow bikers! My son, Jonny, is set upon buying a Kawasaki ZX636-A1P of 2003 vintage. This as great news, as he had his Honda CB600 F2 nicked when he was in Leeds. . I'm going to see the bike in Newbury, at a Suzuki and Yamaha dealership, on Tuesday (25th Feb) in Newbury. I'd really appreciate some thoughts on this bike and what I should look for .... any particular problems or whatever. PS ... anyone who wants to join me on the ride from Chippenham to Newbury is very welcome to join me. I intend to do the A4 route ..... Chippers, Calne, Malbro, Newbury. For me, its the nearest I'll ever get to riding Route 66!!! . Richard

PS, the reason I am keen to give him the best advice is that he lives in Bergerac, France. He and a mate who is buying a bike in Yorkshire, will be taking their bikes to Portsmouth and thence, by ferry, to Santander, in Spain, then driving over the Pyrenees to Bergerac. Cheers Richard.
It's not about my ears ... it's about my ride!

i have the 05 variant and really enjoy it. mine has had a tiny rust mark on the forks which has now been treated and the tank paint is ever so slightly more dull than the rest of the bike (if im going to be picky). i know mine is known for having issues with a butterfly valve in the exhaust and mine is now stuck open but i'm not sure if yours will have the same issues. think its only the underseat exhaust variants that have it. It's also a harsh ride. great for twisties but you will know if you hit a bump.
hope my poor review about a bike 2 years newer and a different model helps you a bit
