Well I’ve decided it’s time to get a decent shed or garage for my bike. The more I look the more I go round in circles.
I’ve looked online at the specialist bike sheds which are all around the £1,000 mark. MK Containers, Asgard and Trimetals seem ok, there does not seem to be a lot to choose between them. Quite a lot of money, but it could be a good investment.
I am limited for space as it will have to sit in a small front garden along with the car.

I cannot get an answer regarding insurance to help me decide if it has to be a metal bike shed or if a wooden one will also help in reducing the premium. Because insurers seem to change their requirements each year the brokers are reluctant to even give an indication
This year I was limited to only a few insurers as the bike was not garaged.

Please let me know if you can recommend a particular type or if you have gleaned any more info from an insurance co.

And a final query!!!I also looked at ordinary sheds with side doors. Without marking it out and doing a test - does anyone put their bike in this type of shed. Will a bike ‘easily’ go in a 2.53m x 1.12m shed which has a 1.04m door (in the middle of the long side). The bike is 2.0m by .75m and I am not the best at manoeuvring it!

Any suggestions or advice will help.

    Cheers

…………………And yes I have tried the neighbours, moving house etc etc ;D ;D

What about a bog standard metal shed from somewhere like argoos?
The massive ones work out about £500 and I am sure if you had a cement floor a ground anchor would help your insurance problem too.
People are more violently opposed to fur than leather because it's safer to harass rich women than motorcycle gangs.

I know it is a bit over your budget, I got my shed from this place. Put the concrete base down myself.
