Has anyone here ever stripped scooter forks.

Have just stripped the ones on the Italjet and there seems to be no damper Trying to work out how the system works.....

The stancion is sealed at the top, and the leg at the bottom, there is a spring attached in between with plastic retainers and oil seals to prevent leaking. Other than that there appears to be no damping piston or tube.

    :-?

Done plenty of Vespas and Lammys, not familiar with Italjet, pop a pic or two on and I'll see what I can do.

Have now spoken to Italjet. And it's odd.

For the majority of the time the forks are undamped, the fluid acts over the last part of the stroke so as to stop the forks bottoming out. I need to put 30cc's of 20 grade fork oil in it.

Put 50cc's of 30 grade in and they work fine....

    I don't know why though,which annoys me.
