Didn't realise that two strokes were still alive and kicking, great to see, mine's not quite as shiny (or as quick!)

No I think the Townmate is shaft driven 4 stroke although not 100% sure? These are V50 (the hand painted one!) and a V75 which I bought to transfer head, barrel & carb to the fifty to help it carry me up hills! Only problem is the 75 is a twist n go auto whereas the 50 is stamp down 3 speeder so now have a V80 to take the motor out of when I get the time - yup I actually have three, what the hell was I thinking?!?

I'm going to punt the V75 off whole as it's all there and was running when I got it' I'll take you up on the V80 but what are you going to do with it without a motor?

Locate a motor. I'm sure enough eBay trawling while restoring the rest would turn one up eventually (or enough bits to make one).

Sounds like a possible chicken chaser race at Henstridge some day?

Thanks mate! Unfortunately I'm not that mechanical minded to even want to split my bike down and put the parts In. Oil seals, bearings, crank, clutch, variator, carb, manifold and reeds, cdi and ignition coil was done by a mechanic in my town. It's a complete Stage 6 set up no corners cut 70cc Sport Pro.

That's good. There are so many 'tune up' parts available now, it's hard to make them all work together.

Townmate did have a shaft drive, I remember now
