Taking the wheel off my bike the other day gave me the opportunity to inspect the brakes closely and they need doing sooner rather than later.
Are there any particular makes to go for, or avoid?

Avoid Kyoto pads. Ok in the dry but in the wet they basically do nothing.

Anyone able to recommend a website/shop where I can purchase bike parts? I got a discount code for sportsbikeshop.co.uk when I took out my insurance, but ordering from them has so far been a complete shambles and I'm reaching my limit of patience with them.

EBC; I always think it best to stick with known good brands for brakes and tyres. Have a look on eBay (best to check where they're coming from) and specialists for your bike.
Orange ones are faster, but red ones are more comfortable!
