Many eons ago, when the world was young, Bristol pubs closed at 1030 whilst (on Fri & Sat) Somerset stayed open 'til 1100 (ish). We would regularly ride over the Whitchurch viaduct in search of alcohol. One evening, in Pensford, barrels of scrumpy and live music were available at this chap's birthday party. A one-off charge of 2/6 accessed all you could drink, courtesy of....
