Tiz 1972. I am sent to Head Office in Leeds for 2 seminars. One is a new estimating protocul and the other is the introduction of VAT. As we are in the print / pack trade, there are complications.
On the Saturday evening, the group financial director takes me in hand as I am on expenses and he is not ! We have a meal at their equivalent of Harveys ( for which I pay about 6 months salary.) I am then dragged via a snooker hall to a night club. I will be the opening bowling against him in a cricket match on the Sunday so I am a little apprehensive.
I buy some more drinks and this comes on - been with me ever since...
